Simone Biles

Simone Biles (born March 14 1997 Columbus Ohio U.S.) American gymnast, who was regarded as one of the sport's greatest athletes. She was the first gymnast from the United States in history to have won four gold medals during the same Games. In Rio de Janeiro, she was also the first female to win consecutive World All-Around titles. Biles as well as the younger of her sisters Adria was adopted by Ronald Biles and Nellie Biles' grandparents in Spring Texas (in the Houston area) were raised there. Simone first became interested in gymnastics while she was only six years old. Coach Aimee Borman invited her to Bannon's Gymnastix, where they went to a field trip. Biles achieved a silver medal at vault in 2010 and a bronze medal at the Women's Junior Olympic National Championships. She then moved up to elite-level competitions in 2011. In just two years, she dominated this sport. Biles was distinguished by her consistent performance, exuberant persona, and the difficult routines she performed across the four events she competed in such as vault, bars with uneven surfaces, and the balance beam.
